We present a method of hyperspectral snapshot imaging that is based on diffraction in an intermediate image plane. In this image, plane diffracting microstructures are used to deflect light toward iris performs spectral filtering. The related spectrometry with reduced resolution. However, the shifts signal detected very accurately at potentially low cost. Our prototype system capable detecting shift 0.5 nm, and operating range reaches from 510 700 nm. Application-specific arrays microgratings lithographically manufactured lead custom spatial sampling (intermediate) image. Compared filter-based imaging, approach avoids difficult manufacturing mosaic filter array, but resolutions will become coupled.
